The Lord’s prayer
It is the most well-known prayer in all of the Bible. The prayer Jesus himself taught his disciples. In the midst of the doubt and uncertainty we have about prayer, the Lord meets us and says, “Let me teach you to pray.”
In the Lord’s Prayer, we learn the person and priority of prayer; we learn the pattern of prayer and what we are to pray for. The Lord’s Prayer draws us into communion with God, and it also shapes us. To pray the Lord’s Prayer is to be shaped as a disciple of Jesus with a heart oriented to the kingdom of God.
